Lifetime blade warranty
Every knife bearing the Dong But forge mark is covered for life against material and workmanship defects. The warranty follows the knife, not the buyer.
- Cracks or breaks under normal use.
- Warped blades from uneven heat treatment.
- Handle cracking, loosening or separating from the steel within the first 5 years.
- Actual hardness more than 2 HRC off the stated figure.
In addition, free re-sharpening and tuning, unlimited times, comes with the knife for life. You only pay one-way shipping to the workshop.
30-day returns
If the knife does not suit your hand, you have 30 days from delivery to exchange it or return it for a refund. It must come back in its wooden box with blade guard and HRC card, with no chips and no rust from poor care.
Not covered: custom-made and engraved knives — though they keep the lifetime warranty.
What the warranty does not cover
- Chips from chopping frozen bones or using a thin knife as a cleaver.
- Using the knife as a pry bar.
- Bending or breaking from a fall onto a hard floor.
- Rust from soaking or dishwasher use.
- Damage from dry grinders that remove the temper.
Sending a knife back for sharpening
- Tell us first by phone or email with a photo of the blade.
- Pack it safely: wrap the blade in folded card and mark it “sharp object”.
- Ship to the workshop at Xom 4, Dong But, Kieu Phu, Hanoi.
- Get it back within 3–5 working days with before-and-after photos.
Shipping costs under warranty
Our fault: free both ways. Routine re-sharpening: you pay to send, we pay to return. Change-of-mind returns: you pay the return leg.
